Leeann has many years of experience as a stylist and salon owner and also worked for John Paul Mitchell Systems as a salon consultant covering 9 counties in western Iowa.

She earned her cosmetology degree from LaJames College of Hairstyling and continued to learn more, especially about hair color which is the main focus of her salon business, through John Paul Mitchell Systems after she became a consultant. She has attended the annual Paul Mitchell Gathering event in Las Vegas twice and has personally met John Paul DeJoria, CEO of Paul Mitchell Systems and Robert Cromeans, Artisitic Director for Paul Mitchell.

Working as a salon consultant gave her a great opportunity to see what other salons across Iowa were offering to their clients and it allowed her to make her own salon even better. "One thing that I really noticed is that young stylists think that they need to be diverisfied and offer multiple services like manicures and pedicures in addition to hair services, but they never learn to truly shine in one area because they lack the experience. They never focus on one true thing. For me, that is hair. I am all about hair and what I can do with it."

Leeann left her consulting job in 2006 after growing tired of all the travel, but she did not leave the Paul Mitchell family. She continues to be a loyal fan of the brand and uses Paul Mitchell products as well as Paul Mitchell color in her salon.  

In the fall of 2007, her husband, Dale, accepted a position with John Deere, which is what brought the family to the Parkersburg area and Leeann has been discreetly building a new clientele while continuing to do clients from as far away as Adel, Panora, Lake City, Carroll and Manning...all loyal color clients who are willing to follow her wherever she goes.

When asked if she ever considered moving her salon to downtown Parkersburg, she replied, "I made a conscious choice to have my salon in my home because it helps to keep my costs down which I pass on to my clients by being able to offer my services at lower prices. I think that is very valuable in our current economy. I also prefer to work with my clients one-to-one, without distractions of tanning beds, artificial nail smells or walk-in traffic."

Leeann offers a flexible schedule to clients, as she books appointments 6 days a week, and nearly every evening...many clients refer to her as a "life saver" for always being able to accomodate their busy schedules.

"I often go over and above for my clients because they all feel like family after a while and I really do care about them," she said.

"I love to see how people change when they feel good about how they look and hair color is so crucial for women in particular, but men are starting to take more interest in coloring their hair too."
